Kathleen Cosgrove, Owner

Kathleen finally has a place where she can spread her wings and follow her dreams. In her career, she has been involved in such fields broadcasting, marketing, advertising, web design, hospitality and human resources. Kathleen originally went to college in Vermont to study theater arts and ended up finishing her degree in communications and marketing. She opened Peacock Style and Color Lounge in June of 2007 in honor of her mother. She wanted a place where she could apply her creativity and express her combined interests in hair design, writing and sociology.

"Peacock Style has all the elements I would want to find in a salon: artistic styling, a relaxed atmosphere, friendly service and a casual feel with elegant touches. My vision consists of working in an intimate, warm, hospitable space where people feel welcome. If you feel comfortable in a place you will always return - that is the atmosphere I try to create."

As a cosmetologist, Kathleen is quite versatile. She enjoys every aspect of hair design and delights in teaching her clients what she knows. She considers herself an eternal student and is always open to learning something new and then applying what she has learned. She is especially good at head and arm massage, waxing, making the customer feel relaxed and at ease and taking a healthy approach to hair care and style. She is focused and meticulous and has a good eye for color and simple designs that are easy to maintain.

Kathleen makes it a point to always be available for her clients. She is there to listen and provide advice or simply just good conversation while attending to the needs of her salon business. She likes that everything in the salon flows well and that the atmosphere is balanced and comfortable. If you have a question or concern, Kathleen does her best to help provide a solution. If she cannot find an answer she is happy to provide a lead or recommendation.

Kathleen's concept for her business is to provide a haven for her clients to come to and feel rejuvenated. She is also a great believer in giving back to the community and is currently setting up a system so that from time to time part of the proceeds from certain services will benefit select charities. Melissa Clarke, Stylist

The lounge is ecstatic to welcome sweet Melissa Clarke. She is an extremely artistic and giving stylist who takes pride in the delivery of her craft. Melissa has been dedicated to the art of hair design for over 10 years. She has worked in demanding environments and has been an instrumental part of a number of well known fashion events around the South Shore. Melissa loves her chosen profession and is so dedicated to her career that she advanced her learning at several prestigious institutions across New England.

Melissa is a certified technician in multiple arenas such as color, styling, product knowledge and cutting techniques through Bumble & Bumble, Paul Mitchell Creative Education, Rusk Institute, Goldwell of New England, Crew, Aveda and Kerastase. Melissa believes that continuous education is the key to achieving success. Her fervor for this creative art shows in the positive results she delivers to her clients who depend on her and cherish her talent.

Melissa's magic has taken her places. She was given the opportunity for a guest appearance at the RG Shakour Hair Show. She won 1st prize in creative updo hair styling and design. But her moment of pride was when she met Vidal Sasson and was photographed with him.

Shane Shannon, Lounge Manager

Meet Shane Shannon, our Lounge Manager. Behind that quiet exterior is a multi-talented, fun loving beauty professional and dedicated mom. Shane has it all going on. She has built her career in the beauty industry for over 15 years. Shane is licensed as both an esthetician and a manicurist. She is the rudder of the salon - a skilled manager with an eye for detail who is very capable of keeping the lounge sailing steady and on course.

In addition to her beauty career, Shane is a busy, full time mother of two active little boys. She is proud to be married to her best friend, Tommy, a hands-on dad who is always willing to lend his support.

Shane is the first person who greets you when you enter the lounge. She has a natural way of making our guests feel at home. If you need advice, a great recipe, or a listening ear, Shane is there. Shane has been a salon manicurist and make-up artist for 8 years. Though she is adept at all types of manicuring, she particularly enjoys doing pedicures and French manicures. She truly enjoys working with people. She has a natural flair for the art of make-up and facial finishing. Her experience has included individual clients, wedding parties and other group events south of Boston.
